Dolores Escalona Martinez, age 97 of Victoria passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020. She was born April 1, 1922 in Victoria to the late Manuel Escalona Sr. and Blasita Rodriguez Escalona. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Martinez Tijerina; son, Jose Armando Martinez of Victoria; sisters, Maria E. Garza, Linda Escalona Salinas, Teresa Tijerina and Carmen E. Ramos all of Victoria; brother, Joe Escalona of Houston. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cristobal Martinez Jr.; son, Jesse E. Martinez; sisters, Maria Escalona, Guadalupe Cervantez and Matilda Hill Gonzales; brothers, Manuel Escalona, Vivano Escalona and Rafael Escalona. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Pallbearers will be Bart Martinez, Matthew Martinez, Ervin Simmons, Nikolas Rendon, Samuel Charles and Greg Tijerina. Under the direction of Angel Lucy’s Funeral Home in Victoria, 361-575-3212.
